GKR Karate is one of the world’s largest karate organisations with more than 25,000 students across the globe.

2015 saw GKR hosting the 8th World Cup here in the UK. World Cup 8 was the biggest and best competition to date with more than 1,500 competitors from the UK, Australia, USA and New Zealand battling it out over three days at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

As an organisation, GKR are very much club based, with a family oriented programme of development and a grass roots approach. For World Cup 8, GKR wanted to extend their reach and make the tournament more inclusive for all students, not just those competing.

Our brief was to design and build a website for the event to build hype for sponsors, audiences and participants. We also helped develop package opportunities and associated collateral.

The World Cup website was re-purposed to help promote UK only tournaments and events as well as serve as an ecommerce outlet for GKR branded merchandise. The site has proven so successful it is being rolled out across GKR’s international territories in late 2016/early 2017.
